like to add that actors sometimes use to describe someone who
is in a scene with them and "shares" the scene rather
then stealing all the attention. (n/t) (24-May-1999

(23-May-1999 08:49:02) I think most people got Wrangly's point. I don't agree
however that even though the Leo the fans have created is a myth,Leo
is still a human being with friends and family who know him and
he dose not deserve having stories or lies circulated about him
publically. (n/t) (23-May-1999
11:46:06) I think this post has some serious merit. It may be
expressed a little eccentrically but the Wabbit has a point.
We, none of us know who this Leonardo DiCaprio is yet he is defended
as if he were a personal friend. All we know about 'him' is what
he is to us-the ideal we make of him. That's fine, defend what
you admire, but it gets out of hand when you start to decide
what's moral and immoral. The article sucks, granted, but where
does it end? He's not some God and I'm certainly not some blind
devotee committed to letting no wrong be spoken of him. I think
he's talented, sure, but I also think he's a total babe and that
totally colours how I perceive him and how I perceivet he posts
put up here that seem so objectionable to some. I'm getting way
off track-what I wanted to say was that I think deletion is the
wrong way to go. People have to be able to make up their own
minds and judgements and this can only be done if all the sides
of the story are available. I say again, I thin... (n/t) (23-May-1999 11:43:08) |

Yes,
Star Wars is not the type of film that seems to appeal to Leonardo,
but as all of you say, he might just do it. ...There will always
be "idiots"....LOL! like you say, Paula, who will say
this or that. It doesn't matter. The fact is that, Leonardo,
at such a young age has been talented and intelligent enough
to not let anybody to type cast him in one kind of role. I think,
unlike other actors, he can indulge himself in whatever role
he chooses, and there will always be directors and scripwriters
of all styles who will look for him. ........CaMom, when I read
about Leonardo being offered the role of older Anakin, I thought
exactly like you. George Lucas, might have thought of this very
promising possibility, and of course, apart from the acting abilities
that this boy must have, his looks, certainly, leave this door
opened!!! (n/t) (23-May-1999 18:32:17) |

Re: Everybody searches thier life in different ways. Leonardo is real- a human being- therefore he becomes accessible, like the kid in the hallway at school everyboday likes, only a larger scale. Kids have access to more technology and people travel more- he actually doesn't seem as fantastic and people want to know about the things he does, because they are human too. It is completely natural for people to fawn over a person, or learn from a person. It would be more strange if he were a droid from Star Wars everyone could not get enough of. Lastly, this may be how he entered your life, but it does not mean it is how he entered others. This paper you wrote sounds like a diary of your own problems, projecting them onto others in hopes that you don't have to admit you are guilty. Now that to me is as good as a thank you. They gave his fans on the web the first view- that was a special favor to us and I personally appreciate the acknowledgement. I come here for the enjoyment of writing and reading about my favorite actor. I don't need to justify that to any other person. Remember there are people here of varying ages, backgrounds, languages, etc. So we have to be tolerant. Since the movie has wrapped there isn't much to talk about now. Perhaps that is why the talk tends to stray into gossipy areas. But there is a good mixture here-others bring it back to the center. (n/t) (22-May-1999 18:14:33) |
